Family Portrait

Time for a family portrait! :D

Emma (kozy) is the sweet baby of the family.
Josie (frupu) is my little model, she's currently sporting a licca body and is not very happy about it.
Caitlyn (brunette kb) is artsy and very down-to-earth.
Cami (pwp) is the rebellious one, I had to drag her to take this family portrait.
Leigh (blond kb) is my little princess.

Kimono Girl

a photo op came up after i made some Spam Musubi for a potluck/bbq this afternoon (trust me, it tastes way better than it sounds!). Spam Musubi originated from Japanese-Hawaiian families, and it's one of the must-haves at a party or get-together. after i was done, i decided to get Leigh all dressed up in a little kimono just for fun.

Spam Musubi anyone?

i'm off to get ready for my potluck/bbq - hope you're all having a good Monday! =)

Afternoon with Caitlyn

We started off on the front lawn...

 "let's go for a walk!"

we stopped in front of a jacaranda tree full of bright lavender blossoms

under a big jacaranda tree at the park. isn't that pretty?

taking a rest off the beaten path

let's do this everyday!

Our First Doll Meet

just finished uploading pics from today's blythe gathering in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
i'm *almost* dollied-out... almost, but not quite. ;)
took over 120 photos but only about half were semi-decent.

All my photos are here in my Flickr!

it was great to finally meet everyone and see the faces behind the avatars. and it was so cool to finally meet some legendary Bs. I believe we made a record for the most Bs at a gathering in North America with 96 dollies!

Cami in Her Sunday Best

Finally got a chance to take some photos of Cami in her new Sunday Very Best outfit... most of my dolly photos are taken indoors on my desk so it was a nice change to be outside. And boy was it sunny out there!

She looked all lady-like in the previous photos, but this is the real Cami:

Leigh has a new sister and her name is Caitlyn :)

I got her a few weeks ago in need of some TLC, so I sent her over to Melissa's for a bit of R&R. Thank you so much Melissa for taking such great care of her. She looks so happy now!

Yesterday Today and Tomorrow

Miss Leigh admires the Brunfelsia Pauciflora bush in my backyard. The common name for it is "Yesterday Today and Tomorrow" because the flowers gradually change colors over the course of three days: from purple to light lavender and to white. I always loved the name of the plant because doesn't it sound like it should be a Beatles song?

meet little miss Leigh, my secret treasure for the past few weeks. she didn't look like this when she first arrived. So far she has had two baths, three hair treatments, some eyeball dermabrasion to remove jaundice, and lip repaint. I'll probably repaint her lips again, I'm not happy with it yet.

Oh and I don't plan to announce her on TIB so it's just for everyone here. =) Huge dolly thanks to Melissa, Sandy, Paula, Karen, and Erin for their generosity and for sharing invaluable tips. Leigh ♥s you!

and yes, I am the person who bought the Spring Chicks outfit from Miss Dandy. I know, I'm a lucky lucky bum. My bank account balance certainly doesn't look it... >_< but golly, I go totally gah-gah when I even think about my little Leigh.

It's been three weeks now and I still can't stop staring at her. is it possible to be in love with a dolly?

Dolly Bracelets!

The husband and I decided to make some dolly bracelets out of seed beads for fun tonight, hehe. that's right, real men bead! ;)  the purple one came out so cute that I had to find this outfit to match. I  didn't make the outfit (obviously), it's a Zodiac Girlz set that I got at KB Toys - the skirt and shoes fit PERFECTLY but the top was way too small, so I had to doctor it up a bit. as long as it looks good from the front, right?

Oscar Night

This is such a fun photo project. Oscar Night! the girls can't actually go to the Oscars but they got all dressed up at home anyway ;)

Bella @ the Oscars
Bella likes the starlet look with a up-do and bright blue print

Emma @ the Oscars
Emma opted for the classic, off-the-shoulder gray silk gown

Josie @ the Oscars
Josie chose the Italian silk with op-art print, very "La Dolce Vita"

Cami @ the Oscars
And Cami is rock n roll all the way! Black silk chiffon with a peek-a-boo skirt showing off her boots!

The girls had so much fun playing dress-up! Big thanks to Miss Gretchen for the great tip of using silk scarves and to Devon for the wonderfully creative topic in the first place!

Josie the Flower girl

I started off by taking some pics of a vintage Skipper Flower Girl dress I intend on selling. And then I thought, "oh wouldn't it be nice to put the dress on Josie, since she's got the yellow hair to match," and then, "oh wouldn't it be cute if I go outside and snip off a yellow lantana blossom from the front yard to make her a flower girl bouquet because it's yellow and shaped like a sphere!"

Well, one thing lead to another... and this is what I ended up with. A yellow-haired girl wearing a yellow dress holding a yellow bouquet. Haha!
